Back to overview
- Check under Extensions > My Extensions that Empty Category Messages is installed and active.
- Open a category and look for the Custom Fields section.
- After an update you can clear the Admin cache and reload the page. The plugin adds missing fields during the update.
- The message only replaces the message for an empty product listing on a category page.
- Check that the field Empty category message actually contains text. An empty field shows the default message.
- If you use inheritance: Inherit from parent category must be enabled on every category on the way up that has no message of its own.
- Clear the cache. If your theme overrides the listing template, check that the block
element_product_listing_col_empty is still passed through there.
An image is only displayed together with a message. If a category has only an image and no message, the storefront shows the default message without the image. Add a message as well.
- Inherit from parent category must be enabled on the category that should inherit.
- If the direct parent has no message, the search only continues upwards when inheritance is also enabled there.
- At most 10 levels are considered, including the category itself.
The message is output through the Shopware filter sw_sanitize. Shopware removes unsafe HTML elements and attributes in the process.
In the CSS classes field only letters, digits, hyphens, underscores and spaces are kept. All other characters are removed.
The plugin delivers its styles through the storefront theme. Recompile the theme and clear the cache:
bin/console theme:compile
bin/console cache:clear
- There is no global default message. Without a message on the category (or on an inheriting parent category), the Shopware default message stays.
- An image without a message is not displayed.
- Inheritance only evaluates the category of the current category page and covers at most 10 levels, including the category itself.
