You find the settings in the Shopware Admin under Extensions > My Extensions > Matomo Analytics. They can be set per sales channel, so every channel can use its own Matomo instance or Site ID.
| Setting | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Matomo URL | Yes | empty | Address of your Matomo instance, e.g. https://analytics.example.com. Must be a valid https:// address and must not contain any of the characters <, >, ", ' and \. A trailing slash is removed |
| Site ID | Yes | empty | The Site ID from your Matomo dashboard. Must be greater than 0 |
| Enable Tracking | No | Off | Master switch. As long as it is off, no script is output |
The plugin only outputs something if Enable Tracking is on and, at the same time, Matomo URL and Site ID are valid.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Cookieless Tracking | On | Tells the Matomo tracker not to set cookies |
| Respect Do-Not-Track | On | No tracking for visitors with the DNT header enabled |
| Require Cookie Consent | Off | Tells the Matomo tracker to send only after consent was given. The plugin itself grants this consent only through the Klaro integration |
| Use Klaro Consent Manager | Off | Releases the script only after consent via Klaro. Requires the MmdKlaroConsent plugin |
| Klaro Service Name | matomo |
Technical name of the Klaro service. Must match the service in MmdKlaroConsent |
How the options interact is described on the Privacy page.
IP anonymization: The IP Anonymization selection (default: 2 bytes) is shown in the configuration, but the plugin does not evaluate it and it has no influence on the generated script. Configure IP address anonymization in Matomo itself.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Enable E-Commerce Tracking | On | Master switch for all E-Commerce events |
| Track Product Views | On | Product detail pages |
| Track Cart Updates | On | Cart page and checkout confirmation page |
| Track Orders | On | Order finish page |
An event is only sent if Enable E-Commerce Tracking and the respective option are both on. Details on the transmitted data are on the Storefront page.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Enable Heartbeat Timer | Off | Enables the Matomo heartbeat timer for more accurate time-on-page measurement |
| Heartbeat Interval (seconds) | 15 | Interval between heartbeat signals |
| Track Outbound Links | On | Enables Matomo link tracking |
| Track Downloads | On | Enables Matomo link tracking |
Link and download tracking are not independent: The plugin calls
enableLinkTrackingas soon as at least one of the two options is on. Matomo then records outbound links and downloads together. Only if both options are off is link tracking not enabled.
Track Admin Users: This option is also shown in the configuration but is not evaluated. The plugin does not distinguish whether a visitor is logged in to the admin.
Tracking without cookies and without banner consent: keep the defaults and set Matomo URL, Site ID and Enable Tracking. The script is delivered unless the visitor sends a DNT signal. Whether no consent is legally required in that case is yours to assess (see Privacy).
Tracking only after consent via Klaro: switch on Use Klaro Consent Manager and set Klaro Service Name to the technical name of your Klaro service (default matomo). Switch off Cookieless Tracking if Matomo may set cookies.
Different Matomo sites per sales channel: select the sales channel at the top of the configuration screen and set Matomo URL and Site ID for that channel.
