Live Demo: Try this and other plugins live — no installation, no risk: demo.markus-michalski.net
Symptom: Statistics and the "Generate Sitemap" button are missing in the plugin configuration.
Check: Is All Sales Channels selected at the top? Then the Manual Generation card shows only the notice asking you to select a specific Sales Channel, and no buttons.
Solution: Select the Sales Channel you want to generate the sitemap for at the top.
Symptom: Generation reports an error or creates no files.
Check: Is at least one content type enabled for this Sales Channel? Does the type yield any URLs at all? The display in the configuration shows the numbers. Without a URL, neither a type file nor the index is created.
Solution: Enable the content types you want. If URLs are still missing, check the SEO URLs (see next item). Details about exceptions are in the Shopware log.
Symptom: Individual products, categories or pages are missing from the sitemap.
Check: The plugin only includes entries with a canonical SEO URL in the Sales Channel's default language. Products must also be active and visible in the Sales Channel (variants only with Include product variants). Categories must be active, visible and of type page, categories under the service or footer navigation are in sitemap-cms.xml.
Solution: Regenerate the Sales Channel's SEO URLs, for example with bin/console dal:refresh:index, and then generate the sitemap again.
Symptom: A category is missing although it shows products.
Check: With Exclude empty categories only products assigned directly to the category count. Categories that get their products only via a dynamic product group or via subcategories are treated as empty.
Solution: Switch off Exclude empty categories for the Sales Channel.
Symptom: sitemap-manufacturers.xml is missing.
Check: Is Include Manufacturers enabled? Do SEO URLs exist for manufacturers? Shopware 6 does not create them by default.
Solution: Enable the option and install a plugin that provides manufacturer SEO URLs.
Symptom: The scheduled task does not generate sitemaps.
Check: Is Enable automatic generation switched on in All Sales Channels (and not overridden for the affected Sales Channel)? Are the scheduler (scheduled-task:run) and a messenger worker (messenger:consume) running in your installation? Is the Sales Channel active and of type storefront?
Solution: Switch the option on, or set up scheduler and worker. Alternatively use the cron job from Generation and console command.
Symptom: A changed interval per Sales Channel has no effect.
Check: The interval is read only from the value for All Sales Channels.
Solution: Set the interval in All Sales Channels.
Symptom: After the shop shrank, numbered files such as sitemap-products-2.xml are still lying around.
Check: Was generation done via console command without --clear? Only the Admin button and the scheduled task delete old files first. The index only refers to files of the latest run anyway.
Solution: Run bin/console mmd:sitemap:generate --clear.
Symptom: The sitemap URLs have changed and Google reports errors.
Check: Were the Sales Channel Slug or the output directory changed?
Solution: Update robots.txt and the entries in Google Search Console to the new path, see Configuration.
Symptom: The sitemaps of several Sales Channels overwrite each other.
Check: Is the same Sales Channel Slug set in several Sales Channels, or was the option maintained only in All Sales Channels?
Solution: Assign a separate, unique slug per Sales Channel. With an empty slug the plugin uses the Sales Channel ID, which also leads to separate directories.
Symptom: A user with a restricted role gets a permission error when generating.
Check: The Admin API routes require privileges that the plugin does not offer in the role management.
Solution: Use an administrator user, the console command or the scheduled task for generation.
changefreq and priority are fixed.robots.txt or submit it in Search Console..xml, no .gz).--dry-run) are approximations.sitemap-cms.xml.Where is the sitemap and what is its URL?
At https://<your-domain>/<output directory>/<slug>/sitemap.xml, by default https://<your-domain>/sitemap/<slug>/sitemap.xml. The index refers to the individual type files in the same directory.
Does the plugin replace Shopware's sitemap?
No. The plugin writes its own files into its own directory under public/ and does not change Shopware's sitemap.
Does the plugin send data to third parties?
No. The plugin reads data from the database, writes files to public/ and makes no external requests.
Do I need hreflang for a single-language shop?
No, switch off Generate Hreflang Tags if your shop has only one language.
