This documentation always describes the latest published version.
The plugin has exactly two settings. There are no further configuration options.

There are no default values. If one of the two variables is missing, the server aborts with an error message (see Troubleshooting).

~/.wikijs-plugin/.env exists, it is loaded. This path is outside the plugin directory and survives plugin updates..env through python-dotenv (meant for local development)..env file.The credentials are checked when the MCP server starts and cached for the lifetime of the process on the first tool call.
Changes to
~/.wikijs-plugin/.envonly take effect after restarting Claude Code.

If you only need reading and writing,
read:pagesandwrite:pagesare enough. Deleting and moving are then not permitted on the Wiki.js side.
